VEHICLES FOR LARGE PLANTATIONS

Caron vehicles are the ideal solution for large plantations. Their technical and structural characteristics allow loads to be carried rather than towed, making work in the muddy soils typical of this type of cultivation much easier and more efficient.

Versions

The particularly tough construction of Caron vehicles, combined with permanent four-wheel drive, central articulation, and the use of wide-section low-pressure tyres, allows to unload the weight on 4 wheels instead of on just the 2 wheels of a traditional trailer. This means a lower impact on the soil and continuity in the harvesting cycle, as the vehicle can work without sinking into muddy terrain and therefore without interruptions even in periods of intense rain. The articulated version is characterised by hydraulic steering on the central articulation and ensures a very small turning radius with the rear wheels following in the tracks of the front wheels. The “scissor” lifting platform system with rear tipping allows the fruit to be unloaded quickly and easily into the collection containers.
A fundamental setup for the processing cycle within the plantations is the one with the crane placed between the cab and the scissor lift platform. A single operator can carry out the fruit harvesting, loading and unloading operations. The controls for operating the crane have been ergonomically positioned inside the cabin to ensure maximum independence, ease of handling and safety during work. The spaces on the chassis of the vehicle have been carefully calculated in order to maintain the large storage tank on the “scissor” lifting platform system even when equipped with a crane.

Sustainability and efficiency

With the aim of raising global awareness of eco-sustainability, Caron have developed an entire range that introduces (or improves, if already present) mechanisation for special crop plantations, especially for harvesting palm oil fruit.

The particularly tough construction of Caron vehicles, combined with four-wheel drive, central articulation, and the use of wide-section low-pressure tyres, allows loads to be carried rather than towed, avoiding sinking in muddy soils, and enabling work even during periods of heavy rain without interrupting the harvesting cycles.

Fluid transport tank with a capacity of up to 2,600 litres, two internal baffles, upper cover for filling, and 3 rear outlet valves.
Fertilizer spreader with rubber mat, 2 discs for spreading from 16 to 24 metres. Capacity of 2.5 m³.
Fertiliser spreader with 4 vertical rollers, 3.5 m³ capacity. With lubrication system.

    Practicality and savings

Simplified handling compared to traditional tractor-trailers, faster work, and lower fuel consumption, significantly lower both running costs and investment recovery times, while also taking better care of the land and people involved in the palm fruit harvesting and processing cycle. For example, because Caron transporters do not have to tow trailers, which tend to constantly sink into the ground, they require less power than traditional tractors, and this translates into significant fuel savings and less soil disruption.
